Devious Journal Entry

Thu Oct 29, 2009, 2:03 PM
Well that was an interesting year of school. Tomorrow will have been a year of my Vet Tech classes, and guess what?

That's it!

No more school. Thanks to my lack of concentration because I don't know how to make my mind work when it doesn't want to, I got behind.

Well that wasn't the agreement with my dad. The agreement was keep up with the work, and apparently no extensions. So he's given me till the end of November to catch up. I'll only be caught up with the webinars by then, not everything. So... I'm not going to let my mom pay $75 for an extension of 6 months when he'll just stop paying after one month.

And before anyone says it, I did tell him why, and my dad being who he is doesn't give a shit. We had an agreement so it doesn't mattter what my reasons are. Not to mention to him they are just excuses like my depression and anxiety are. I just didn't want to do the work, so I didn't. I even told him that reading a book for pleasure was taking me months, when it usually takes me about a week maybe. But I'm lying. Just like I'm lying about making an effort to catch up. Because after all he isn't standing over my shoulder watching me do the classes, so he doesn't know that I'm not just lying.

So school will be over tomorrow, and I'll start it all over again whenever I can pay for it myself. And he doesn't have to worry about me asking for help from him ever again. I'm tired, I'm sick of being treated like shit, and treated like I'm less than my sister's and step-brother.

And no I won't say the year has been a waste. It wasn't. I learned some interesting things, and it will help for when I start over again. Not to mention I got to see a glimpse of what will come later.

But I will say I'm done with my dad, and hope to God I can stick to it this time. I've tried several times before, but failed. I'm a person that feels guilt very easily and over almost anything, so it's been really hard for me to stick with it. But I'm tired, he stresses me out, makes me more anxious and constantly hurts me over and over again. He doesn't even know it, nor would he care or believe me if I told him. After all I was the only one of 4 he didn't want and got mad when he found out I was on the way.

Sorry, I say too much when I vent sometimes.

But anyway I have another dad, one that actually loves me. He doesn't have to pretend he does. Yes, he drives me up the wall sometimes, but he actually is proud of me for things and it's obvious by the look on his face when he tells people I'm his daughter. So I don't really need Richard, just like he's never needed me. If he did he would have told me about his knee replacement surgery last week instead of letting me hear it from my Aunt who I just happened to run into.

Oh well. Be back online whenever.

Not much to say.... I'm 21. I love to read and write, and I'm currently in school to be a Vet Tech. I'm not that great at taking pictures so it will take me a while to have many on here.

If there are any of my photos you would want a print of, or think I should offer as a print, please let me know :).

If there's anything you want to ask, feel free :)

Hey there!

I was just perusing your cat pictures and noticing that you'd mentioned wanting to get them fixed but not being able to afford it. If you live in the Central Valley too, there are programs to get feral cats (and pets too) spayed and neutered for low cost or free to those who can't afford it, so you should definitely check out that option. (Especially with the dreadful overpopulation problem we're having. Over 700 incoming cats a week in the shelters!)

Here is a page for the Central Valley SPCA with an application: [link]

Good luck! My grandmother was feeding strays too and had a problem with them multiplying. She managed to catch them all and get them sterilized, and now they are much happier kitties. :)

Thanks SO much for the link! That is incredibly helpful:D. I mean because ours aren't strays, they come from one we adopted from a friend and one from a pet store, and most of them don't wander far, but they are just getting so expensive to feed. And even though they don't wander far, we do still worry about breeding with other cats that come onto our property, and our males that look for females during the Spring:(. And thank you for not judging us for having so many, lol. There have been a few people that have been so rude and mean for it. But they don't understand that lack of money has been the only reason for not getting them fixed.

Again, thank you. I can't tell you how much I appreciate that, hehe:D!

You're very welcome! :)

It's a really great program. Someone set up a trust fund for the sole purpose of helping people in the valley to get their pets spayed and neutered.

Some people are really harsh about the sterilization issue, but as long as you have the intention of getting them fixed there's no reason for them to harass you about it. It's not as if you're letting them roam about having babies just because you like to see the kittens or anything. My grandmother was in the same position. She moved into the country and wanted a cat to hunt mice and snakes and whatnot in her fields, so she mentioned this to her friends. She went and got a nice little calico, and then someone called her saying that they had found three kittens and she just had to take them. So she did. Lots of space, right?

Then several other people dumped cats on her, and one of them was pregnant. Then a pregnant female wandered in for the food, and before you could blink she had seventeen cats. :O She caught them all and got them fixed using a discount service ($30 for males, $35 for females), and even found new homes for some. Now she's down to three content kitties. :)

Oh wow! That's awesome! And definitely a great idea.

I most definitely agree with that. I mean I'm attached to this family, so yeah I don't want to make it so that once they die off I don't have any from that family, but as long as the numbers slowly go down, that'll be good. Goodness, that's crazy. We have around the same amount of cats too. The thing I hate though, is that I have a horrible time giving my cats away. I always feel incredibly guilty for some reason:(. Can't say I blame her for taking them, lol. I wouldn't be able to resist either lol. And yeah, we live out on 2 1/2 acres. It's kind of considered the country. It's kind of funny, because the one we got from our friend was a calico too, lol.

I was kind of worried about asking for advice on it too much, because I was criticised by several people on my school forum when one of my cat's got hurt. We originally weren't goign to take her to the Vet unless we felt we had no other choice because of lack of money. Several people were telling me that wasn't a good enough excuse, and I needed to take her anyway, things like that. Which wasn't helpful, and only made me feel like a horrible owner.

But I'm glad to hear it worked out for her, and she got them good homes:D. Means less that'll have to starve or be hurt:)
